Transfer Switches

200 AMP GRADE LEVEL TRANSFER SWITCHES

A transfer switch is used to transfer load from the Co-op's power lines to a standby power source - your generator.  The transfer switch is designed to isolate the Co-op's lines from the generator to avoid backfeed to the power lines.

Linemen who are working to restore power during an outage, or anyone who contracts a downed power line, could be seriously injured or killed by backfeed from an improperly installed generator.  An approved transfer switch must be installed before you attempt to use your generator.  Contact Oneida-Madison Electric Cooperative's office at (315) 893-1851 with any questions you may have.
